It was founded in 1971 in the city of Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, by Mr José Barba, its current CEO, whose vision and values have prevailed through out history. Thanks to its acceptance in the market and the preference of its customers, in 1982 the company started its currently has 18 branches and 10 subsidiaries through out the country, characterized by continuing to maintain since its founding, the human quality of its staff, customer service and the quality of its products.
With the support of El Surtidor del Tapicero and its more than 45 years of experience as leader in the manufacture and distribution of upholstery and decoration fabrics in México, Barbatex was born in 2018 with the aim of entering the foreing market with its exclusive line of high performance fabrics for furniture manufacturers and distributors, characterized by its quality and attractiveness of unique and exclusive designs.
Whith the aim of starting the production of its own line of textiles in order to meet the strong demand of Mexican national market, in 2001 El Surtidor del Tapicero creates Jaltex, its own furniture upholstery fabric factory, located in Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico.
Jaltex integrates cutting-edge technology looms to obtain the highest quality fabrics, mainly Jacquards, dobbies and chenilles. In addition, in order to monitor its quality in detail, coupled with the speed of response to meet market demand and standards, Jaltex also has a quality control department composed of a team of professionals where the entire production is inspected and evaluated prior to packing and shipping; also has a dyeing laboratory equipped with a color matching technology system, and a nishing area where the frabrics receive different types of protective coatings, such as moisture repellent, flame retardant, among others.
